Live scores for school, university and club sport across South Africa, reported from the sideline by the people already there. Parents, coaches and supporters follow their teams and see fixtures, live scores and results as they happen, wherever they are. No more “how did it go?” messages after the final whistle.

No. Scoreboard Live is independent. It isn’t run by any school, club, union or league, and it doesn’t claim to be an official record. Anyone can add a fixture and score it so everyone who can’t be there gets to follow it, wherever they are.

Yes. Following teams, live scores, scoring a game, adding your team: all of it is free.

Rugby, soccer, netball, hockey, basketball and water polo are scored live, with tap-to-score buttons that match the sport, so a try is +5 and a conversion is +2. Tennis, squash, table tennis, athletics, swimming, cross country and chess are all in the app too, with results rather than a running live score.

One game, one scorer. Whoever starts scoring a fixture holds it, so there is never confusion about which number is current, and if they disappear mid-game someone else at the court can take over. When the final score posts, everyone at the game can confirm it, and the confirmation count shows right on the result. Wrong score anyway? Anyone can correct it, corrections are visible to every follower, and every change is logged.

Players never need accounts. There is no roster, no invites and nothing for a child to sign up for; parents and supporters hold the accounts and follow teams. We collect the minimum needed to run the app, and our Privacy Notice spells out exactly what that is.

Straight from your browser, no app store needed. Open app.scoreboardlive.co.za on your phone and add it to your home screen: on Android (Chrome), tap the menu then “Add to Home screen”; on iPhone (Safari), tap Share then “Add to Home Screen”. You get a full-screen app with its own icon, and it keeps itself up to date.

Nothing. There is no onboarding, no contract and no setup call. If a parent or coach adds a team and a fixture, that community is live. Schools are already loaded; clubs and leagues take a minute to add. Running a league or tournament and want more? We’d love to talk.

The fixture still shows up, marked as not yet being scored, and anyone at the game can be the one to start. It takes a single tap. The more people following a team, the more consistently its games get covered.
